Kevin McPoyle, organizer of the local Feed My Starving Children event for its fifth year in October, 2017 is flanked by his father, Warrington Rotary member Frank McPoyle to his right, and Bob Mallon, Warrington Rotary President Elect.
At our April 19th breakfast meeting Kevin related the impressive work done by FMSC which has reduced world hunger since 1987 by sending volunteer-packed, nutritious meals to 70 countries. These meals are nutritionally designed to reverse and prevent malnutrition.  The organization sees that 99+% of the meals reach those in need through schools, orphanages, clinics and feeding programs to break the cycle of poverty. FMSC welcomes more than 1 million volunteers to pack nearly 273 million meals annually through its permanent sites and nationwide MobilePack program.
This year’s local MobilePack will be held at DelVal University October 25-29.  Community volunteers are expected to pack 1,000,000 meals during the event.  Sign-up can be done on-line beginning in September.  Several Rotarians have participated with their families and commented that it is a fun, heartwarming experience.
