25th Anniversary Scholarship Banquet
 
On May 31, Warrington Rotary Club held its 25th Anniversary Scholarship Banquet. In 1992 Dr. George “Rusty” Bullock an Orthodontist and Warrington Rotarian had an idea of creating a scholarship program.  The objective of this program was to reward community service activities of high school seniors who planned on continuing their education. Since its inception, 145 scholarships have been awarded, totaling over $130,000.  These scholarships are given to young leaders in the community who embrace the rotary belief of service above self.
 
The   25th anniversary banquet was very special this year, with fifteen previous scholarship recipients attending the event.  These guests included: Avni Choksi  2008 CBS, Brian McGlinchey, 2001 CBW, Brianna Bannach 2016 CBS, Brynn Dietzel, 2012 CBS, Ellen McGlinchey 2003 CBW, Himel Patel 2003 CBW, Jessica Rimdzius 2016 ABW, Lauren Hohberger 2014 CBS, Lauren Horoschak Ninoshvili 1998 CBE,  Lauren Mallon 2011 CBS, Massah Kachlan 2015 CBW, Neesha Patel 1999 CBW, Philip Clark 2006 ABW, Robert Mallon 2013 CBS, Shane Hensel 2015 CBW. Each alumni spoke about their life experience since receiving the Foundation scholarship.
 
In addition to Alumni, special guests included Rotary District Governor Elect Rick Gromis and his wife Susan, Maggi Boyer, daughter of founding Rotarian Leonard Point, John Douglass Chief Operations Officer Hatboro Federal Savings Bank and Assistant Governor John Ortolf.  These guests presented awards to the scholarship recipients.

Hazzard Memorial Scholarship), Kyle Farrell CB South to George Washington University Major International Affairs (Leonard Point Memorial Scholarship), Jack Traina CB West to Harvard University Major Economics, Joy Zhao CB South to Penn State Major Pre Med, Olivia Cantrell CB West to Drexel University Major Civil Engineer/Environmental, Kelly Cyliax CB West to University of Mary Washington Major Biology and Carley Cantwell Archbishop Wood to Quinnipiac University Major Occupational Therapy (Founder Dr. George “Rusty” Bullock Memorial Scholarship). Congratulations to all the winners.

At our regular weekly breakfast meeting on June 7th, Scholarships were awarded to two recipients who were unable to attend the Scholarship Banquet.

The Pennsylvania Center for Adapted Sports (PCAS) provides sporting and social activities for people with both developmental and physical disabilities.
 
Warrington Rotarians have volunteered for PCAS for many years and recently the club funded the purchase of a specially adapted sit down ski and an adapted rowing boat (shell).
 
The presentation of a check for $11,100.00 took place at the breakfast meeting on December 28th 2016.

Our first Len Pointe Scholarship winner returned to our club meeting on December 21st.  Mary Elizabeth Lyons received the award in June, 2015. She is a Cadet at West Point Military Academy. She related what life is like at West Point.  The first year was challenging, but the joy she is experiencing this year made her perseverance worthwhile.

Warrington Rotary Club Annual Academic Scholarship Winners
 
Warrington, PA – On May 18, Warrington Rotary Club held its Annual Academic Scholarship Awards Banquet. In 1992, George “Rusty” Bullock founded the Warrington Rotary Club Scholarship program.  Since its inception, 137 scholarships have been awarded, totaling over $120,000.  These scholarships are given to young leaders in the community who embrace the rotary belief of service above self.
 
The winners of the 2016 Warrington Rotary Club Academic Scholarship are as follows: Brianna Bannach, Central Bucks South, Kishan Bhut, Central Bucks West, Erin Dart, Central Bucks South, Courtney Dietzel, Central Bucks South, Alex Gibson, Central Bucks East, Teresa Liu, Central Bucks East, Coner McGrath, Archbishop Wood, Bridget Newns, Archbishop Wood, Kristina Posner, Central Bucks East and Jessica Rimdzius, Archbishop Wood. Congratulations to all the winners.

Warrington, PA – August 20, 2015– Passengers waiting for buses in Warrington will notice some changes. The bus shelters and benches on 611 in Warrington are being renovated.  The Warrington Rotary has funded this project and plans to revamp all the bus stops on the 611 route in Warrington.
 
Chuck Ciochetto, President of the Warrington Rotary Club stated “The Warrington Rotary was thrilled to take part in this project. It’s exciting to see the updated bus stops and we look forward to continuing the renovations. I appreciate the hard work of many dedicated Rotarians, especially Billy Mogg who has been personally involved in every installation”.
 
There are two new shelters located at the Warrington Mews Pavilion Shopping Center and in front of Home Depot with 4 more being planned. Additionally, six benches were installed along the 611 corridor through Warrington.
